A Christmas Carol, directed by Gavin Mayer, is now playing at the Arvada Center for Arts and
Humanities.
This timeless classic is a marvelous musical adaptation of Charles Dicken’s 1843
perennial masterpiece. It is a family-friendly musicalization brimming with lyrical energy. The production itself is entertaining and enchanting, inciting laughter.
Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by four spirits: his late business partner Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. He gets a glimpse of how his life will turn out if he does not mend his callous and penurious ways, fortuitously expressing in the end that humankind is redeemable and acts of kindness can enrich the spirit.
The vivacious acting, highly skilled singers, and apropos stage design enriched the experience under the guise of this superb pantomime. It may not be a Broadway musical, but the quality was up to par. A must see for the holiday season!
